Chilled Out Canines was founded by me, Fleur, in 2023 . I have over 8 years experience working and training dogs and puppies in basic obedience, heelwork, tracking and scentwork. The dog training and behaviour industry is sadly unregulated, however the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) seek to set and maintain standards in both the knowledge and practical skills required to become an Animal Trainer or Behaviourist and promote animal welfare through science-led, humane principles. It is for this reason, I decided to become an accredited trainer. I am a full member of the Professional Association of Canine Trainers, on the national register of assessed trainers as an ABTC-ATI. This means I have had to undergo both academic and practical assessments in order to be awarded the Animal Training Instructor qualification. I am also an associate member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, having passed my Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management, and working towards the practical assessment for the ABTC Animal Behaviour Technician standard. I am also Dog First Aid Trained and complete over 30 hours of annual CPD in order to maintain by accreditation .

Early on in my training journey, I knew I didn't want to just train dogs, but to understand and respect these beautiful and intelligent creatures and work with their natural behaviours to develop rewarding dog and owner relationships. I only use ethical, science-led, positive training methods which are based on rewarding dogs for good behaviour. This teaches dogs what we want them to do, rather than focusing on what they may be doing wrong. I find this makes for fun and enjoyable training sessions, with more sustainable correct behaviours. The organisations I belong to are dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, appreciating their behaviour and ethology, and setting standards and good practice when working with animals.

Chilled Out Canines understands that every dog is different, therefore training sessions are bespoke to the individual dog and owner(s) needs, abilities and budget. Choose from online training and support, 1-2-1 sessions or a training package. Training can take place at your home, your favourite dog walking area, or at an enclosed field near Swindon, Dudley, all included in the training price. I do not currently offer regular scheduled group classes, but if you would like to train with friends, please get in touch to discuss.
