Chilled Out Canines was founded by me, Fleur, in 2023 on completion of my academic and practically assessed qualifications in Animal Training and Canine Behaviour Management. I have over 6 years experience working with and training dogs and puppies in basic obedience, heelwork, tracking and scentwork. I am a full member of the Professional Association of Canine Trainers, on the national register of assessed trainers as an ABTC-ATI and a full member of the International Society of Animal Professionals. I am a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, having passed my Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management, and am working towards the practical assessment for the ABTC Animal Behaviour Technician standard. I am also Dog First Aid Trained and maintain annual CPD.
Early on in my training journey, I knew I didn't want to just train dogs, but to understand and respect these beautiful and intelligent creatures and work with their natural behaviours to develop rewarding dog and owner relationships. I only use ethical, science-led, positive training methods which are based on rewarding dogs for good behaviour. This teaches dogs what we want them to do, rather than focusing on what they may be doing wrong. I find this makes for fun and enjoyable training sessions, with more sustainable correct behaviours. The organisations I belong to are dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, appreciating their behaviour and ethology, and setting standards and good practice when working with animals.
Chilled Out Canines understands that every dog is different, therefore training sessions are bespoke to the individual dog and owner(s) needs, abilities and budget. Choose from online training and support, 1-2-1 sessions or a training package. Training can take place at your home, your favourite dog walking area, or at an enclosed field near Swindon, Dudley, all included in the training price. I do not currently offer regular scheduled group classes, but if you would like to train with friends, please get in touch to discuss.
Please reach us at flo.jo@chilledoutcanines.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
As an accredited trainer and provisional Animal Behaviour Technician, I can help with general obedience training for all ages, specialist puppy advice and training, tracking and property search training, and advice and techniques to help prevent unwanted behaviours such as resource guarding, jumping up and separation anxiety from developing. I can also help implement behavioural modification plans that have been written by a Clinical Animal Behaviourist.
If your dog is already experiencing behaviours such as aggression towards people or other animals, moderate to severe separation anxiety, general anxiety or complex behaviours such as self-mutilation, fears or phobias, then you will need to seek an assessment from a Clinical Animal Behaviourist or Veterinary Behaviourist. If you would like to get in touch, I can help find you a suitably qualified behaviourist in your area.
At the moment I am unable to offer socialisation classes.
Yes, I offer in-home training services to help address specific issues in your dog's natural environment.
